Board Statement on G/T Allotment
Frisco Gifted Association is a Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented affiliated organization, serving the Frisco, Texas area. The Board of the Frisco Gifted Association strongly opposes HB3, that will eliminate dedicated funding for G/T services.
This dedicated allotment provides resources and funding to hire trained G/T teachers who understand the needs and can facilitate strengths of our most gifted students. It also assures that economically disadvantaged and twice-exceptional populations are receiving these services from their public schools at a time when educating these vulnerable students is critical to a fair and equitable state education program.
To maintain academic excellence and prepare the future Texas leaders it is critical to continue dedicated state GT funding and thus we oppose HB3.
