This month, we'd like to introduce you to elementary school teacher Melissa Dinger.
Melissa Dinger is the gifted and talented teacher at Rogers and Christie Elementary Schools. Mrs. Dinger has 26 years of education experience, 12 in gifted education. She holds a degree from Baylor University. In her spare time, Mrs. Dinger enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and is a huge Baylor fan.
Mrs. Dinger’s love of gifted education began in the late 1970s. In 1977, the state of Texas passed its first legislation regarding gifted education. Mrs. Dinger was placed in one of the first groups of students that benefited from the 1977 legislation. The opportunity to work on projects that involved creative and critical thinking influenced her desire to become a teacher of gifted students. It brings her joy to see students passionate about what they are learning in the gifted classroom.
Melissa Dinger is a GT teacher at Rogers and Christie Elementary schools.
